Thank you! And thank you for the information on pictures. I use a regular camera for pictures and put it on micro mode. Next time i'll try to crop the picture, but the 3 cent piece just doesn't look that clear even in person.
You can take your picture with the highest setting in your camera then you can crop it in IrfanView so just the coin is showing and you will not have such a large picture megabyte-wise.
There are other tricks in IrfanView to bring down the size of the file but still retain the largeness of the size of the coin.
When opening a file in IrfanView and then you want to "save as" two boxes pop up. On the left a box showing directories and on the right, a small box with a slider bar. In the small box in the upper left of it it says "save quality" and you can slide the bar to the left or right. I save my pictures at 57.
There are other tricks I can tell you about concerning the program.
Thank you Tony. I tried to download it but it didn't download. I didn't go metal detecting today because I'm trying to learn my Deus better. Yest I practiced pinpointing and today I've been reading the manual and the book. And working with the menus and doing beginner's exercises.. I had your program loaded but it made too much noise. Tomorrow I'm going to learn to ground balance
