Could someone please tell me how to select English as the default setting on my Deus I just took mine out for the first time and it sounds like Chinese to me. Please help. lol

I did a quick Google search and found one post on a forum where it said the remote control unit had to be sent to France for reflashing to change the language.

sorry guys, supposed to be a joke meaning I don't understand it. haven't you heard the saying (its all Chinese to me?)
Poor attempt at humor on my part I guess. Thanks for looking Happy Hunting.

I got it...
But I am Chinese... LOL

I speak and translate Chinese tones perfectly. simple English translation BEEP BEEP BEEP translates DIG DIG DIG .... LOL

Calabash what does chirp, pop, garble, honk, bang mean? I ain't hearing anything close to a beep. Lol. I just buried a dime in my backyard about six inches down and I couldn't find it went and grabbed the e Trac and it wouldn't find it so Put the dime a about 3 or 4 inches got it then and after playing with reactivity, silencer, response and 4K hitting it good reburied the dime at 6 and can get it several inches off the ground. I will head out after work tomorrow and get in some more time. Thanks for looking/replying.

Shoot a quick video with your phone and post it of whats its doing and will see if we can help with that .........

Freshly buried coins will do this sometimes, not a good test of any machine, being new to the deus i would suggest that you stick to the 10 preprogrames for a while so you can learn more about the machine and then start tweaking it a little. A lot of people start out tweaking because they see all the videos and really get confused.

I agree with Digger 45.
I started out using basic 1 and Deus Fast in the Tot Lots to learn the sounds.
Easy digging and an array of good and bad targets.
It took quite awhile for my slow mind to grasp the tones, but when it did it was game on.
Once you learn what to listen for then you can start tweaking and go from there.
Good luck
Practice, practice, practice.....

I got out for a few hours after work today the first thing I did was bury a penny six inches deep I had to use a penny because that was the only thing in my pouch other than giant pieces of aluminum, then I had realized that I had not even dug a single dime with this machine, lol. I was sure to get a proper ground balance in the red dirt of Folsom CA and then swung away at the penny after scrolling through the programs Deep was hitting it best so I tweaked it around and when I was satisfied I set out this was a much more pleasant experience this was a school site not a trashy park like the last few days. I am happy to say that my trash to coin ratio went in the right direction big time by applying some of the basics that I had taken for granted because I was so comfy after years of swinging the E trac and of course the knowledge that many of you have shared. Thank you. I did not find anything deep or old however I did find dozens of coins including a nickel and two dimes straight up and down on edge I was impressed by that. I did dig some tabs and small slaw but they started sounding suspicious very quickly I avoided many bad signals I dug crusty zincolns for the first time in years but once again they really do have a funky sound that I will learn to avoid, my old AT gold is the only other machine that I have used that I could tell a rotten zinc from a good one. overall I love the ergonomics of the Deus and feel much better about the future with it after today. Hopefully, the deeper older silver stuff will come with experience on the machine. I have the next three days off and weather permitting I'm gonna dig all that I can. Thank you please keep sharing your advice.

The deep program is one of the best that i have found in central California, i actually use the Sifter program the most, it is just as deep as the deep program but by running in 8 frequency it seems a little better. Look it up on youtube i think you will like it. The great thing about it is by dragging back towards you it will give you a different tone when over bottle caps, at least when in full tones. Another thing is i started out in three tones and eventually went to full tones and after using that for a while i just can't us anything other than full tones, i like to hear it all.
