I got a text from a friend I hunt with asking if I wanted to hunt today. He works odd shifts so I never know how long it will take him to respond. After replying and not get a response, I decided I was going to scout out a couple of site I had found on Google Maps. 3 were ball fields and one was an old Fairground on a 1870s map. I scouted the oldest ball field first stopping to ask who owned the property. You couldn't tell it had been a field from the ground. The gentleman I asked told me the field had just been sold by the owner and that her son was always detecting there. I decided to move on, finally hearing from my detecting buddy. He said he was headed to an old carnival ground and I told I was going to look at one more place before meeting him. When I got to the site, I found that it had been an old school and the remnants of "ancient" playground equipment frame were all that were standing on what used to be a playground. I excitedly texted my partner and described what I was looking at. He told me he had detected there before and several other had both before and after him. I told him I was going to stay and give it a try. Glad I did! The Deus came through in this "Hunted Out" spot.
