DFX Owner

at the Explorer Forum and the White's forum. The Explorer forum has picture after picture of find after find that I would give my arm for, while the White's forum has inquiry after inquiry about this setting or that setting and the infrequent entry of someone posting a picture displaying his great day coin shooting after finding $0.31 in clad coinage. Thr proof, they say, is in the pudding.

I read the seated dime post on the DFX forum, those were great, although Golddigger found 1 Gold dollar (Not the new one, a gold dollar from the 1800's), 9 Mercury Dimes, 1 seated Quarter, 1 Standing Liberty Quarter, 1 seated dime, 1 barber dime + 3 old Tokens. All in the same park in about 3 different trips. I'm not saying the DFX is bad though, at all.

It depends on who is swinging each machine. The dfx is not like the explorer. It has a lot of adjustments that affect depth, not just one or two.

Tsurvivor i did own a white xlt,,would have been an awesome machine had they put a gameboy or sega slot on it to play games with,as far as finding treasure,if 4" depth turns you own its o.k,,not even realy good at 4"s...I had my fisher cz's and was use to digg'in 8" to 16" coins...Anyway after being dupped into buying an xlt because eveyone on treasurenet had crap fits over how wonderful they were, and then i get one and tweek my butt off tring to get deeper than "just dropped clad" i went to noticeing that all they ever talked about was programs and setting, never had any good old deep finds....It was also common to hear people chiming in about they could only get 4" max with an occasional freaker of 6",,,talk about depth envey these guy were ate up with it..I was common for them to look in on the fisher site and say we were full of shiot and liars..but there answer to lack of deep finds was that the operator did not know how to program it,,what a pant load..Anyway after about a year of me"aircraft engineer" being to stupid to program that fine tuuurd i passed it on to someone else... Fisher or minelab, have both and like'm...waynebo

Come on...quit holding back and tell us how you REALLY feel about Whites machines!

I will agree with you about he Explorer being the most powerful or at least the deepest machine I have used up to this point. I will also agree that 99 percent of the reviews in the Mags are crap. I am not loyal to any one brand as I will use what works best for me in the spot I plan to hunt. if i plan on taking a long walk in the woods and do some relic hunting my light weight Troy Shadow X5. No use to carry the explorer or the DFX both are two heavy and my X5 will work great with very little effort. There are situations that the X5 will out perform the explorer also. Small gold chains and ear rings are not a problem for it with the right settings. The Explorer will not touch a thin gold chain at any settings. The right detector for the right situation is what it is all about. You would not play golf with one club and any serious treasure hunter will not limit there self to one detector.

I also do not sell detectors I treasure hunt with them and love every minute of it.

I agree with you, it depends who's swinging which machine AND Where you're swinging it, some guys live on places that have been on for a long time (i.e. since the 1600's, 1700's, early 1800's) like Massachusetts for example which is very rich in history and lost coins, artifacts and relics. Meanwhile some of us are at places where "little" history abounds :rage:.

About the settings for depth, I believe the few that are on the Explorer are just fine, and make it go really deep, I keep finding very deep coins, some clad I've found at 12"-13" with a strong, repeating signal in my area (Riverside), pretty weird, yes...

I see you never post on "White's Main Detecting Forum" - do you actually MD or find anything? or do you use another handle on that forum?

I see you post on "Whites DFX Users Classroom Forum" quite a bit. And you post here but use the handle "swingingmydfx". that's interesting.
kinda like going to a White's forum and using the handle "usingmyEXII".

Do you do free advertising for White's in exchange for free MD'ers?
Did they send you a free machine for any reason? Like an honest answer would be forthcoming if they did. i know a guy who claims
he's been sent several new MD'ers in the last year.

see my point - why one might be real suspicious? I'm sure there's a logical reason for all the above. I just have a real tough time
listening to a guy with your handle talking about a minelab.

hidden agenda comes to mind.
