Diamond rings and chicken dinners...This is Good!

While doing some research I came across this excerpt from a newspaper dated December 25, 1903 and thought it was worth sharing.

Steve in PA;

Because Mrs. John Dilleo lost her much prized diamond ring and suspected that a chicken had swallowed it, she proceeded to kill off the whole flock of chickens one day last week. She had chopped off the heads of twelve of the chickens and was about to execute the thirteenth when the flash of the valuable shiner caught her eye a few feet from her execution block. There was a gathering at the Dilleo home on Monday night and chicken was served in every style.

:rofl:Cool story!:clapping:Thanks for sharing! Yeah, just think how many more rings and things are just waiting out there for us and our detectors!:detecting: I love looking through old newspaper articles for different treasure leads. I have a subscription to that GenealogyBank.org. It's about $5 a month and has access to all kinds of old newspapers.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
