Well not really but this one is a head scratcher…..,
Went back to the old city park and thought I would try the Legend in M3 in the wet soil. After about an hour and a half of digging deeper signals (mostly iron pieces and other oddities) I hit a very clear and sharp 26 so hoping maybe a deep nickel so in I went. It ended up being 8” deep and not a nickel but an old rusted crimped edge style bottle cap. Well pooh I thought……
It was rusted thru in the center of the cap and fairly flattened. I turned it over and was staring at silver looking back at me. Encrusted in the dirt and rusted metal was a small charm silver heart. It literally fell out and a big ol’ diamond was on the other side!!!!
Ended up being junk jewelry but hey, made my day!!!!!
Being deep and cap rusted through it had to be down there for quite awhile but how did the charm get in there? Never gonna know but this has to be one of the more bizarre finds I’ve dug.
