I wish we used those 1 and 2 dollar coins! WTG Lazy! Good for you!

I sure wish we used our $1 coins more and had some higher denomination coins too! Personally, I keep a detailed log of my finds and I also bank ALL the clad I find less the one cent coins. My metal detecting account earns between 13 and 14 bucks a month in interest right now which I think is impressive. Basically finding 45 cents a day while I'm stuck inside. My goal is to have 5 grand by the end of 2009 then to figure out how to spend it or if I even want to spend it.

Real nice totals for only 6 months. Hows your dollar doing vs the US dollar lately?

Chris

You can always just keep letting it all accumulate Chris. So even if you feel lazy, your detector is stilling giving you a few $. That's what I intend to do if I can stop myself from buying detectors.
Lazy, it looks like you already have your own way of keeping track of you finds. that's what I find in 12 months on a good year!

That's a good idea Chris & mick i"d sick it in the bank to but i just love buying new detectors :detecting: i think it"s addictive .
i"m hoping getting a secondhand Excalibur off a mate for water hunting hopefully it will work out good as the last water detector i really did int like & has been delegated to a back up/parts detector.

Better watch out with buying 'em new detectors Lazy. Curiosity killed the cat and this cat is just fascinated by the different technologies out there. I was going to buy the X-Terra, but I'm seriously looking at the Fisher F5 now. If it works out, I won't be buying the X-Terra. One day, I might even buy the Infinium. For the features it has, I would consider it to be the best gold machine. AKA I like the idea of reducing the amount of iron that you did. It won't knock it all out, but I reckon that it would save a lot of time. Like the idea that you can use it at a beach as well. Probably find more gold there than the goldfields anyway.
All I can say, is that at least I've now tried most of what's out there (that I'm interested in at least). So hopefully, my finds will exceed my purchases one day. Found around $3000 since being in the hobby, but after the next purchase, I would have spent $6000.
So don't get to fascinated or you'll just have to detect a lot more to pay for everything.

Lazy - excellent work there! How much did all the 5,10,20 & 50 cents add up to?

I've just nosed over the $200 mark after 2 months of limited detecting, more than enough to buy the Ace Sniper Coil!

Mick i do a ton of research on any detectors before i buy so i usually know what i"m getting, it"s the Spur of the moment buy"s that i usually regret  & i use my detecting money to get new detectors if i haven't found the $$ i don't get the detector.
5,10,20,50 = ???? i reckon about $100-$150 i usually do a clean up every two months then i put em on the house every $1 i put on the house is a $1 the bank cant charge interest on witch makes me :) & the bank :( .
thanks Leslie i"ll have to get my lovely lady something special for putting up with me :inlove:
