Did A Reset With & Without Wireless Headset Before Today's Hunt 8)

Kind of interesting. When I held down the on/off switch without the headset turned on, I got the 2 beeps. When I turned on the wireless headset and did a reset, I didn't hear the 2 audio beeps. Not a problem as far as I can see. The only time I reset the machine is when switching coils, or having some unexpected issues.

My buddy and I headed out of Edmonton this morning for a hunt at an old pic-nic site. There was a creek near by, so we hunted it too. My buddy got the oldest coin today, a 1919 Wheat cent. I got the most clad. It was a fun time getting out. Kind of cool though. It was 4C/39.2F.......jackets and rubber boots were in the cards.

Here are the better finds. My buddy eyeballed that Goddess Statue.....kind of a neat find. The MAX got the wind up key and vintage toy bulldozer.

And....as is typical where I hunt....where there is water and gravel, there is petrified wood. I collect it now, to give to the Nurses I work with on my orthopedics ward at the Hospital.

You and your buddy definitely made some great finds! Love the little bulldozer!

When my wireless headset is turned on and I perform a reset, I hear two audible beeps.

The folks at Garrett explained this by saying when the wireless is used it isn't on until the machine boots up and pairs with the detector is why you don't hear the two beeps. When the wireless isn't active the first tone defers to the external speaker but you still don't hear the double tone. Also Garrett rep said to knock the Threshold down to -1,2,or 3 to get rid of the static, scratchy sound that I've been hearing. It does work but you seem to get an increase in volume. I remedied this by knocking down the volume on the control unit to a 3 and decreased the control on the headset by a 1/4 turn down.

Tried out the Max today. Wireless phones worked perfectly. Tried a couple of different modes with different settings. Test bed was hitting on everything from dimes, tabs, Indians, and a few flat buttons all at 6". Well done, Garret.

I received another set of headphones from Garrett today due to the absence of the two tones on the reset. Well the new set won't sound off either. I guess this is just an anomaly with the wireless headphones.
