Did i made the right choice?

MEV

New member
Hello guys, i was wondering if i made the right choice, i just order the 7.5 khz dd coil, i have been using the 18.75 khz dd coil for a year,im tired of getting small stuff, my ground mineralization is high i think because every time i ground balanced the numbers are between 8 and 15

Is it deeper this coil?
Is it better on silver' or any kind of coins?
Would it pick up gold rings or gold coins?

In general is it better on relics than the 18.75 dd ?

Thanks :)

I would say yes unless you are only looking for gold

I think that everyone should have a 7.5kHz DD in the arsenal.

Will it be deeper?
I would say that it's likely. It would depend on whether the ground has more magnetic or conductive minerals in high concentrations, but just by virtue of it being a DD, and a lower frequency, and a larger coil (assuming that you have the 5x10"), it is most likely going to be a great addition.

It will hit on silver, copper, brass, and other higher conductors harder than the HF coil. It will also still see gold, lead, and other low conductors, but won't give you the same solid sounding tones as before. They will be there....but different.

MEV, I think you will like it. I have been using the 10.5 DD 7.5 coil for 7 years now, just look at some of my post and you will see how good it works for me.

well i just received a call from the company that i ordered the 7.5 khz dd coil , they told me that minelab told them that this dd coil has some issues on the chip, and they stooped making them until they solved the problem, does somebody knows something about this?

Thanks

First I've heard of it, but it makes me glad that their QC caught it before you got a bad one.

If you want one in a hurry you could always try a different dealer, to see if you can find one in stock somewhere.

I'm sure that it's a recent production issue. They have a pretty decent demand for that coil, so I doubt that there is any sort of accumulated stock.
And as far as the chip goes, I know of too many that work perfectly to call what's being reported a "glitch". It's far more likely to be a physical production issue than a firmware problem, as the programming is well established.
