I was at that soccer field complex at first light...with all the thousands of people there for two days straight, I figured it would be fresh drop heaven! I was very wrong! I spent an hour trying to find massive amounts of coins, got a few small spills and a few singles, one being the shiny dollar coin. After about an hour, and maybe 3 bucks total..I said the heck, this is a complete waste of time...I'll go scoop up the dimes I left at that School entrance I was at yesterday, just to get a halfway decent count...At least I knew they were there!, got them all pretty quickly and went to a different large school complex and just started working it...entrances, edges of the parking lots, sports fields, really going fast to make up for lost time...got a couple of very nice multiple Q spills, one had 4Q's 1D, and 4P's all stacked up...another had 3Q's 2d's and a P scattered in about a 6" radius...I hit this ring about 5' away by the entrance..it sounded and TID just like a Q, 925 so that was a nice surprise, I have no idea where I got the other dollar coin, I thought it was a Q I guess....I left that soccer complex sort of worried I would barely break 5 bucks for the day, and let my brothers down, so I was pretty surprised when I got home and did the count... 142 coins, for 18.80 and that silver ring...perfect detecting weather, cool, overcast and a little drizzle...quit at noon. Golly I love clad stabbing, and I doubt theres a better quick broom than the F70 with the 11"dd! If there is, somebody holler at me.

you did good nice silver ring to boot i agree about the f70 after using the t2se and f75se the f70 was as good and lighter for coin hunting, the best thing about the t2 and f75 is the trigger for pinpointing happy trails

Thanks guys..it was quite a weekend. Hey EZ..I sort of hop and wiggle the coil for PP now...especially now we have some deep grass, a guy cant hardly sweep in a tiny wiggle, but hopping it seems to work just as good if not better for centering the coin without using the PP button. Stilpony, that's whats its all about! I doubt I'd be this much of a clad hog without the help and inspiration from many posters back when I was new at it..We are here to make better hunters out of each other! Every one of us delights in the finds of the others and cheer them on to greatness in their chosen hunts! Anyday you break 100 coin count is good! It seems this sport lends itself well to whatever the machine, location, and hunter's preferences are...all the different subsets of skills, from beach hunting to relics make this a sport that will not get boring. Clad Grabbing is just one little subset and probably the easiest one to master because off all the targets, and you don't need old dirt...now Mega Clad Grabbing is just building on those skills with situational awareness, numbers and speed.

I have found clad coins are not as prevalent as past years...Heck since I started using a debit card never have any change in my pocket and sign of the times....

Nice haul Mud!!Congrats on the ring......That's a lot of digging in the dirt,I get spoiled all summer just moving the sand with my foot at the beach,then when it gets cool its back to digging in the dirt...but not that much!!.... WTG

You are right there Dan...not as much clad being dropped in the last few years, and what is rots pretty quick in the ground. Rick, I hope you got out...these squalls have been coming in all day but it looks like they sort of went North of you and hit me directly..still, I got out a little between them and swept up where the carnival was this weekend..got a cheapo ring and a very small amount of clad..not a good sign at all...Bob, I'll be moving to the sand real soon..its been too cold to have packed beaches here yet this Spring..seems that Aug Sept, Oct are good times to sweep, and that's very weather and weekend crowd dependent at that. We need a big blowout to take some sand off and that would be great. Thank you all for your kind replys..it was a good weekend for me.

Great stabbing Mud. Those are some real fine totals for each day of detecting. I still think the F70 is one of the best coin shooters. You use a 11" coil but I still think you would be better off with the 6.5"or 5DD coil. By the amount of coins you pick up, the coins must be pretty close together and I know they are not that deep. You can swing the 6.5" coil all day and dig coins to 6" plus.I took the 6.5" coil because it came with the rod and hardware. When you want to switch coils you have the coil on its own shaft. I have never taken it off the shaft. I have not used the 5"DD coil. Great work and smashing detecting... Happy Trails.....Z
