My tabs go very local. The elementary school my wife works at collects them. They go to the county recycling center and the kids get hands on field trips sponsored in exchange for the tabs.
 
Save and send them to the schools here .
Collected for wheelchairs (powered) for disabled school children
 
Apparently the tabs have the highest concentration of Aluminum out of the entire can... but yeah why not the whole animal(shrug)
 
Suggest you check with snopes.com about this tab business.
 
Our Men's Club collected two 55-Gallon Barrels full of them last year and turned them in. I just wish I could have gotten a picture before they got rid of them. That's a lot of pull tabs.

Man, you'se guys must be too "woosy" to go metal detecting.....you might fall in the water !!!
 
Our detecting club collects them and for every 1 pound of pull-tabs donated,
someone gets 1 free hour on a dialysis machine. GN :wiggle:
 
same here we save them for dialysis time for kids...:detecting::clapping:
