Someone with first hand experience will probably be along shortly, but I'd give Garrett a call. I don't think it has entirely different insides-- seems like they may have tweaked the tone ranges to be more useful for non-US coins, though...
The high done readings will read in different places on the screen. The International model has an expanded high tone area compared to the US version.
