Diggin In Da 'Ole Fair Grounds

Went digging in the 'ole fair grounds for a few hours this morning. Got a couple bucks in coins (nothing newer than 196:geek:, a measuring spoon, two washers, three Budweiser caps and a sterling silver cap end to a cane or parade flag pole. Still looking for silver coins and gold rings. The coil I used was the 18.75DD 5" x 10" on my X-Terra 70. It works well for coins in AM mode and Prospect Mode is great for pin-pointing once your sure the signal is good. All in all ~ not a bad morning, as I was able to get out, get a little exercise and come to understand my detector better.

on the right track if you are learning the machine better and getting exercise ! Good digs, Steve in so az

Thanks! Funny thing though ~ the Budweiser caps read the same as a quarter with the Minelab X-Terra 70 w/5" x 10" - 18.75khzDD coil. The washer came in the same as a dime and some of the pennies read #36 and #40 and will vary depending upon what type of soil they're detected in. The sterling silver cap came in a #46 and, for all the world, I thought I had my first silver dollar. Oh well maybe I'll find a silver dollar on another day huh?

Glad you could get out :detecting: and congrats on the finds! You'll get that Silver $ just keep on in faith while a swingin' and a diggin' ! :smile God Bless! Betty

I dig EVERY bottle cap signal I get depending on the site I am on, normally they give me a 46 on my x-70, well not too long ago I had a solid 46 at that old school, and because I dig everything there, I dug and lo and behold it was TWO silver quarters in the hole. You never know till you dig it
