Digging Low IDs

After just reading a post on the TEK forum , how many of you dig
low but deep ID #s with a good find. Thanks Mike

What I usually do if I get a deep target with low #'s (below 50) is remove the top 5-6" of soil and scan again with my coil. At that point, the # usually changes, a lot of times it will bounce up in the high 90's and tell me it's iron, i cover the hole and move on.

There have been a few instances where it's bounced up into the 70's and 80's after removing some dirt and I've gotten some deep wheaties...

It really depends on the site, if it's capable of holding really old stuff, then I at least investigate everything over 15 on the VDI.
