Digital Camera lens

I have a Sony MVC-FD83 camera. I would like to take close up pictures of birds and wildlife. I think I want a telephoto lens. Can a lens of this type be used on this camera? If so what type do I need? Thanks Bill

Check his reviews. If yours is listed he usually covers things like that... Guvner..

I used to have that model and made one myself. I mounted a lens in a tube which had a threaded adapter on it to fit the Sony lens. I made it simple with one lens but if I remember right the image was upside down which did't matter to me but the quality was great (except for the edges). -Dave

Bill, I don't want to draw you away from this site, however you need a solid forum on Sony digital to get your answers so you can really contribute to this site.
The following link is very camra-specific and I have given you the Sony forum (sorry it is not a hot link so just copy/paste/go):
