That corroded dime under the mercury is the indian head. Rough one ain't it.
 
Very COOL. The first Merc I ever found was right after I got my first detector - several years ago. I opened the door of my Jeep, slid down onto the ground, turned my machine on, and the very first beep I got turned up a Merc. I was VERY excited!

I know this sounds weird, but that was my first mercury. I found a seated liberty quarter before the merc. I had always used bounty hunters until getting a minelab. I still have a bounty hunter as back up , but there is know comparison. My 6inch dd coil air test about 5 inches deeper than my stock coil on the bounty hunter. Don't get me wrong I found alot of good things with the bounty hunter . A class ring and some silver coins. I know that detector well. Now I almost completely understand my 70 and I am starting to find old coins I had previously hunted with the bounty hunter.
 
hard to compare the two. I found 4 seated quarters before I ever fund a seated dime.
