Disappearing VDI on standard F75

Hi Roland , could be some sort of feeder, I use a chicken feeder and it is the same shape as your find, grain is put into outer rim and mound in centre is there to prevent birds from walking through feed and pooing in it.
I do hope it turns out to be a bit more exciting than my suggestion. Oh by the way the hole is probably there for drainage when it is left out in the rain!
Pullringking.

Thank you, Sir!! That makes perfect sense. I will do a little research and see what comes up.

Roland, did you recheck the hole after you removed that iron disk........hh.....Dan

Dude I think this so funny can't stop laughing. Looks like the bottom of a bird bath.

Yeah, Dan, I rechecked the hole AND the immediate area. Still hard to imagine that thing chiming in as a quarter!!

Shooter, I was on a quest! I hate it when things get the better of me and I will do everything I can to get even. In this case, I wanted to KNOW what was giving me that signal. Was it worth it?.....probably not to anyone else, but, it was to me! And, you are right......it does look like a mini-birdbath, except for the hole in the rim. Glad you had a good laugh.....even at MY expense!

Okay, as of a few minutes ago, the Garret ProPointer is being processed to ship to my house. I certainly hope that it lives up to all of the hype. From what I have read, it should go about 4" deep......is that correct? We shall see!!!

Before I sent mine back got 3 horseshoes in the same spot and they were deep too so I know what you went through. Later Dude.

"Until That Time"

I was searching today got a signal but no VDI; however the Fe304 bar registered quite high. I think it is either surface iron or mineralisation. I wouldn't waste time digging it.

Rev,
I think you are probably correct re: the soil's iron content or mineralisation. However, I know for a fact, as Shooter confirmed, it can be a result of a very deep object. Per my post on the 21st when I found the Mexican robot hat, I had a good signal with no VDI and it was, as I said, every bit of two feet down. I didn't think the F75 would shoot that far and this was in some very dense red clay (iron).

Thanks for reply. I am new to the F 75 and will investigate in future some of the negative VDI signals and report back if they do turn anything up from my English sites

:fisher:Hi I'm jumping in here if you don't mind......An underground power line will give you a quarter reading too......That F75 is one powerful machine.....Deep and deeper!...
