Disappointing Day...But Still Better Than Work

Saturday was beautiful! I had great hopes of finding something good, and I had two sites in the plan.
One turned out to be dismal, and the other produced little, but did hold a few Wheats and a pretty uniformly green King George penny.

You did good on the last hunts....they can't always be memorable, but they are always different. HH GL

I know how that goes all to well.. You line up a few sites that looks good and you get all excided about hitting them and your lucky if you find a wheat.

Oh will, off to the next place....

Absolutely right Mark. I think that our being eternal optimists is a large part of what drives to do what we do. Yet we are also realists, in that we have to face the fact that there will be red letter days, and we have to take them in stride.

In my world, the glass isn't half empty or half full, it's just twice as big as it needs to be. Get on with it.

I want one of those bumper stickers that reads : A bad day at detecting is still better than a good day at work!! Emmett
I want one too. I like my job but I really like detecting.

I actually like my job too, but it's getting harder and harder to do. My normal work day usually involves driving a lot of back roads, pretty women, and a hefty paycheck. Sometimes there's even an old farmhouse in the picture.

Unfortunately it also involves me getting stomped on, sat on, yanked around, struck, kicked, bit, and other unplesantries by animals that outweigh me by 8-10 times. Then there's the huddling up to the forge when I'm freezing, and pouring buckets of sweat while forging when it's 90
