Disc. accuracy Excel/Ace 250/MXT

I'll admit I hate digging trash. I own an MXT but am considering if I should buy the Excel, Ace 250, both or neither. On MXT I can usually tell the difference between a nickel and modern tab (if not bent) & can usualy tell the difference between an aluminum screw cap & a penny. Also, if it makes a difference, I use the 6.75x10 DD coil & soil is moderately mineralized overall (phase 55-80) & varies slightly in most places & very much in a few. On the Excel, can you usually tell the difference between nickel/modern tab & screwcap/penny? I see some reports that seem to indicate that the Ace 250 with only 12 groupings is more likely to ID same for nickel/modern tab & screwcap/penny, true? Thanks for any answers. George (MN)

This was the best disc detector I ever used .....you could tell silver from clad, & sort out trash like no ther unit.....Ahhhh the good old days...

On the Excel, you can usually tell the difference between nickel/modern tab, but its hard to do and you will dig some pull tabs, The Excel is new to me, but have found nickels every time out, it usually will ID +8 or 9 or 10 if it goes to 11 I Don't dig, I hate trash to , like your MXT if it is bent no hope
An aluminum screw cap & a penny can you usually tell the difference, Its harder for me to tell the difference between
a deep large screw cap and a dime. all detectors can be fooled, the last time out with the excel I dug 75 coins 1 ring, and 5 junk targets. Love the Excel.
