Discouraging day at the beach

MassSandman

New member
I know we all have days like this but today goes in the loss column. I went out with the XS for a couple of hours betwen raindrops. Got three heavily rusted bolts, a clad quarter and a clad Kennedy half, six crown caps, and a beat up spoon. (I am being a good boonie trooper and digging all repeatable tones!) A guy with a White's Blue Max was kicking my narrow behind all over the beach. He ended up with 15-25 coins, a silver ring and a pair of eyeglasses. Now I know the XS is a superb machine. I guess this is the case of the wielder being a bit inept. Back to it tomorrow, though., Thanks for listening.

Don't let it get to you. Some guys carry around things they had already just to brag they do better than you.

Too bad I wasn't in the area MassSandman! It would be the other way around with the White's user. I know my detector very well and I wish I could do some beach hunting and see how well I would do. Only beaches around hear is at a few Lakes and I just don't have the time to go and try them. Good Luck and HH tomorrow and hope you turn the tables on the White's user as well.

Because someone useing a Whites did better and found a few more coins that day he had to be cheating? You know how silly that sounds? You think the Explorer is the only good beach machine? You have alot to learn.

I hope you aren't talking to me. I think you misunderstand. I never said that the guy using the Blue Max carried "finds" with him. All I am saying is that I am not as skilled on my XS as he is on his White's and he wiped me up. I'm not that experienced with this entire hobby to comment upon people and detectors so take a deep breath and try the de-caf!

It was to the person that made the comment. So take a deep breath and try the de-caf also!

No problem here my friend. Your line? My wife has been using that one on me for years.

My son(16) will usually find more than me with his DFX. I use a Quattro for the time(Explorer coming). But a lot of it depends on sites. For "shallow" clad the White's are awesome at quickly and accurately pinpointing. OF coarse the method of target recovery also is a big factor as well as age and such. Usually when there are few targets and deeper ones I will do as well if not better.

Don't let the other guy or other machines get you down Rich. We all have days like that and I know you will have better days down the road.........:) Keep the faith in your Minelab. HH.
