DISTANCE OF ARMREST FROM HANDLE ( water detecting)

mike k.

Member
What distance should the armrest be , from the handle, when water detecting ? Im getting my forearm scraped raw , against my wetsuit , when swinging my excalibur in the water . Wondering if I should move the armrest closer to my elbow ?? Your thoughts - thx - Mike

Since you're swinging in the water, you've to apply much more force, resulting in armcup pressing against forearm much more. You want to reduce that pressure? Reduce the leverage (hand grip is your pivot point) by moving armcup closer to the elbow. As a matter of fact, I like mine exactly at the elbow when water hunting. You can also substantially reduce the drag by switcting to smaller coil and getting rid of "snakeskinz" if you were using them.
