Do U remove batteries?

First off, I apologize for claiming we can hunt year-round here in California. It has been the, um, worst Winter in many years. There is standing water where I often dig, and soggy ground everywhere else. So, I'm wondering if I should take the batteries out of the AT Pro for storage? Also, has anybody used the NiMH rechargeables in their AT Pro? I haven't tried them yet, but I'm thinking about it.

BigLots has some rechargeables which are 1.6 volts each for about $8 for 4 with charger.

some batteries leak no matter how much you pay for em,i lost a detector once it was 2yrs old, Now i always take the bateries out after each hunt.better safe than sorry

I take them out...(if it is going to sit more than 2 months) I recently ruined a nice Moultrie Game Cam from batteries that leaked.. The batteries I was using were the Walmart Batteries (Rayovac) ... I had done battery research prior to using them and everyone said they were a fantastic battery.. I will never buy them again.. Now I only purchase Duracell or energizer in bulk pack from sams, costco, or bj's... Just as cheap and in my opinion a little better quality..
