Do you do this for a living ?

That's what a little boy asked me the other day. He thought I was making my way by detecting I guess.
I said no, I'm just having fun finding coins. But to think of it I am doing it to be living maybe.
I get out in the open air - get away from any troubles - get a lot of good exercise - have a lot of fun - meet a lot of people along the way - expand my mind by looking up what I have found to learn about them - helping others along the way by showing how it works or finding lost things for them.

And at the end of the day I am tired, sleep well, am rewarded by my hunt - what could be better ?
So maybe I am doing this for living - Steve in so az

My computer shop dies in the summer. I find gold and silver to make my house and utility payments and to pay for my air and gas for my truck and boat. It seems to work out for me. I find over a grand a week a lot of the time. People think I am not smart for selling my stuff, but you can't take it with you and it keeps me happy and content. I can think of nothing better than playing in the water all summer and relaxing.

That is a good way of thinking about it Steve. I am just so relaxed when I am out in a field or yard detecting.

I could not make a living at it...because of being alone most of the time and unable to travel to different areas and states...but I know I am better off because of :detecting: all those years that the Lord blessed me with ability to do so! Would try to do it now, if I had someone to go with me...but all my friends have gotten older along with me or have already passed away! But I have good memories of the finds I uncovered, helping to clean up the grounds and meeting lots of people! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus! May God Bless you to keep on going for many more years! Amen! Ma Betty

Not a bad life to have Steve, I wish I could do it for a living that would be great!

Sure do! The pay isn't much at times, but I love my job! :bouncy:

I think I'm retired. They tell me that means I'm tired all over again. LOL! I've had my share of medical issues this year so I've not hunted as much as I would have liked to. I love to be in God's great out-of-doors detecting and finding things. Even if I don't find much, I still enjoyed the time outside and got a little exercise, for which I am very grateful. Praise God, from Whom ALL blessings flow. Amen?
