Do you ever want to swat your hunting buddy?

Every time I find a new area to hunt with my hunting buddy, within 20 yards of the truck he finds a wheat back. Well today he gets about 30 feet from the truck and yells out "Indian". Yep, 1904 Indian head penny. If it weren't for the fact that he likes to drive and I have problems driving any distance - *SWAT*

i hear ya. my hunting buddie has found gold in my park after i invited him that day. he found what should have been my first silver dime in the lot i got permission to hunt and still follows up behind me and shows me what i missed. should i swat him or myself. i went over every place he found these things before he did. he does carry a bigger shovel so i'd have to be verwy verwy sneaky. "TWANG".

Yeah, I know about the shovel thing. We spend a lot of time relic hunting, so he brings a big shovel.

Yeah. When I found a silver half at 8" with my CZ-5, he found this the perfect opportunity to plant an older silver half at over 12"-which of course I couldn't get a whisper on with my CZ. He swore his was picking it up (he had on earphones) Had I not looked in the hole where he dug and saw the bottom flat and patted down, instead of loose, I would have really been mad-as he said the dealer he got his from had "supertuned" his.

You gotta decide which is more important, a free ride from a buddy or some better finds!! Swatting him will only encourage his behavior!!

I wouldn't worry about his finds, just be glad you have a buddy to go hunting with. Not everyone is that fortunate, besides I'm sure you will get a few keepers on the way back to the truck also.....HH........
