Do you have any tricks for getting the threshold tone back?

I can get it back but I usually have to stop and wait or lift the coil. It is hard in trash or heavy iron. What do you do. IT is already slow and I hate having to go from slow to full stop all the time.

Thanks,

Julien

If not using a Smaller Coil, get one and try that. There will be Nulling still with no Threshold Hum until you get past the Iron in the ground and to a Clean spot but it should improve the response time. You can also help this problem by Slowing Down your Sweep Speeds and Setting your Recovery to Fast On Only. Just because you are in Iron and you hear the Nulling doesn't exactly mean you will not be able to hear Coins next to Iron or Trash. If you go Slow enough, the Coil will see some of the Targets and give you a short hit which you can go back over and swing your Coil just over this area to see if the Signal gets any better. The other option is going All-Metal, Iron Mask -16 if you are using the XS or 2, or -31 on the SE, in Ferrous Tones. This will allow your Detector to give you Signals on Every Item in the ground. Listen for the High Tones and look for where the Coins either are located with the Cross Hairs on Smart Find or what the Digital Numbers are. Pull Tabs, Screw Caps, anything Conductive and not Iron will give you a High Tone so you will have to watch the Screen and dig what you want to dig. The Iron should give a Low Tone, except for the Bottle Caps which will read Lower Right I believe (this will help you if you know where the Bottle Caps are located on the Smart Find Screen so you won't have to keep digging them) and the occasional Rusty Bent Nail (that will read and sound like a Silver Coin). All-Metal takes time to get use to but is not meant for everyone. Takes lots of patience using this method. Hope this helps you out and Good Luck and HH.

I am used to hearing everything after so much hunting with the T2 and F75. Maybe that is really what I should be doing. Do the crosshairs work better/faster in AM?

Thanks,

J

They should. They may bounce around more due to all the Targets in the ground but at least you will know when you are over a Target that is Conductive in Ferrous rather than wondering if some of the squeeks are good Targets using a different setup. Good Luck and HH.

I sometimes run in audio1 in heavy iron and don't worry so much about threshold. The sound seems to run from 1 item to the other. You have to drop the volume some.

ON many iron infested sites i have noticed you can still get a slight null now and again even in all metal. I don't know if any one else has noticed this , maybe my detector is faulty .Reduce my sensitivity and the nulling reduces slightly. Reducing the sensitivity helps..

I usually run in the "coins" preset or if I am in "iron mask" I run in either 22 or 15 or 10 but usually around 22. Sometimes I will select "jewelry" to be included with "coins".
Also I have been running in AM some. I really like AM.

What, exactly, do you mean by low disc on the SE?

Thanks.
