Do you place the coil on the ground to do noise cancel?

This seems to be logical as the instruction require the coil to be motionless.

If you are using a pinpoint probe, other than the X-1 turn your pinpointer on before you noise cancle.
If you are hunting with a friend, have them turn their detector on before you noise cancle, otherwise everything will go crazy at the flip of a switch.
Good luck and post pic's
