Doc your Platypus you sent me is a absolute killer on the 3500,plus your Li-Ion system, now it is all fun...3 nuggets first time out with the Platypus...I mounted the 3500 on a eureka gold shaft with the Platypus as it turns out it is a natural balanced machine now,I hunted 5 hrs.solid and did not have use a bungy...What a delight...:clapping:

Thanks for the report. I have always used an "S" shaft. I don't like the straight shaft Minelab provides. My orthopedic surgeon said the straight shaft is the worst ergonomic design he has eveer seen.

When lifting your detector with the straight shaft, the weight of the detector pulls across the tendons in your hand at a 90% angle to the way the tendons run. This can cause trigger fimger and a problem akin to carpal tunnel syndrome.

The "S" shaft provides a much more natural position of the hand. When you lift the detector, it is akin to lifting a suitcase, the weight is in the direction of the tendons in the hand.

Take care!

Where could one the s rods be purchased?

And how much would one of the "S" rod cost? I know that Whites makes them, Tesoro, but not sure which would be the best fit and deal.

You know us fixed income people need to watch our pennies!
