Does Andy's book explain the functions of the Se?

I have a Se and was wondering if Andy's book would make the learning curve less stringent? . The ad talks about the E-trac and the Se Pro, but I have the Se, and would like to buy the book if it would help me learn some of the controls. Thanks for anyone with the book letting me know

I should have asked you Andy about your book's coverage of the SE as I mean no disrepect: just am a new Se owner trying to get a leg up on this machine. Thanks

Coinseeker,

Yes it does, the first book is also good to have (Mastering Minelab Explorer XS & II ) as it also applies to the SE.
Both Are Great in there own way.

I've got about 20 hrs on mine and having fun learning, Books have helped loads for me.

Good Luck,
Ron

YES! It goes into detail about all the Explorer series machines and the E-Trac.
If you only get one book get the latest by Andy on the Explorer series and the E-Trac. He is a sponsor of this forum and you can order directly from him. I got mine and a couple of highliters and studied it like a college text. Now I go back and review stuff and find things I missed. He used to sign them before he sent them. That's a nice little touch that you won't get from a retail store. Jim

If you are learning the Explorer its the best on the market. Its goes into greater explaination than the manual and gives you setting of some really good hunters. The settings are interesting to try to see if they work in your area... just remember there is no substitute to in the field experience at your own locations. Dont be afraid to try verious setting... stick with them a bit you might find them useful in verious locations. The explorer is a pretty forgiving machine depth and tone wise.

many different setups and tips to try out from different people. One of them just might help you out in your soil.

The key is to "piddle" with all of them to see what works for you.

That being said...the main thing for you to remember is to not try too much too fast.

If you do...it's very easy to get confused and frustrated. Just take your time and leave the SE in factory presets for a while..before trying too many different things.

Once you have familiarized yourself with the machine...then is when you should start "piddling":)

Just being new to the Explorer family, I have ordered Andy's book. I have the Explorer II and so far am pretty impressed with it, although it is quite a learning curve. Just wondering though, if there are any updated coils that are available for this machine. Just looking to see what options are out there.

that one's a winner:thumbup:

Use it for a while before trying another one would be my advice.

If you don't like that one...the Minelab pro coil is a good one...the 10 x 12 SEF coil is a good one...and the 15" WOT coil is a good one for larger areas.
