In thinking about an buying SE, I'm wondering if Minelab is about to do an Xterra thing to the Explorer, mating coils with chips in them to the electronics to let the machine know what the characteristics are of the coil.

In other words, is Minelab about(or not too far in the future) to Xterra-or-ize the Explorer platform. The Xterra is their newest platform design I believe.

It seems like the next logical step in product development for the Explorer line with is a line with some age under it's belt.

Should I wait a bit or bite the bullet and buy one now?

Thanks,

John

I don't know why they would want to make an Explorer like an Xterra, it already runs on 28 frequencies with the same coil. Now, if they put the electronics of an Explorer into an Xterra body, that would be a better move. Light weight and a more visible screen....yes!

Please share what info you have with the rest of us. Knowledge is power.

Thanks

If you're interested in the explorer, the SE is a really great detector & in my opinion you can't go wrong...If you are speculating on "What Might Be" in the future you're probably in for a long wait.
