DOES ANYBODY OWN GTAx 550 ?

Paul,

I have had one for many years now. It is a great park coin shooter, at times it works better than my Quattro in certain areas like high trash with comparable sized coils. Its graphic response time can be a little slow in a trashy area but the tones recover faster, by that if my display is bouncing between iron and a penny but locks on the iron it may still be giving a tone for the penny. Then remove the coil from the target area let it clear about 3 seconds and scan again if you are not sure, a lot of times it is a coin with some trash close by. Going 6" with a sensitivity around 6 is typical. I run mine between 7 to 8 most of the time and you for my area turning up around 9 looking for extra depth starts to give me false tones, beaches may need to be turned down to 4 or 5 if you are working near the wet sand but higher in the dry sand.

I've had one for a year now and really like it. I use it mostly for coins and relics, with a beach now and then. I've gotten a coin at 8 inches and an axe head almost a foot and a half down. It does take a second or 2 to recover from trashy areas and when switching from pinpoint. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I have a G-500 which I am told is the 550 with a different face plate.
It is OK I guess ... works like it should ... but nothing I would call extra special.
I would rather have a nice 1500 or a 2500.

Anyone want this one?
