Hi !
Received my Ratphones Max on Thursday, July 17th. Due to current workload, I've only tried them once with my Ace250 out in the front yard. My initial impressions are listed below. I'll be back with additional comments on the audio quality, after doing some comparisons with other headphones.
I paid $123.00 + 6.00 SH = $129.00 total on-line through Paypal. Rick V. had previously sent me an Email advising that he has a secure shopping basket on his website for factory direct orders, but only through the Paypal shopping cart where you can use a credit card. He further advised that he does not have a merchant account for credit cards directly.
- Packaging was excellent !
- Overall appearance of Ratphones is excellent ! Very sleek and clean look.
- I like the fact that each ear cup has only one control on the outside (volume) and all other controls are on the inside and function automatically. The volume controls are small rotary type and operate smoothly but firmly and stay positioned !
- The cup size seems perfect and the padding on the cups and over-the-head band is very comfortable.
- Total weight of only 10.2 oz. doesn't seem distracting at all !
- The double-ended cord is well made. It has a 1/4" dia.
Mono male pin on one end and a 1/4" dia.
Stereo male pin on the other end.
Both pins are right-angle type, so they don't protrude. When laying naturally on a table, with no stretching, my cord measures 39" overall length.
There is a coiled section in the middle about 18" long and a 9" straight section (from each end of the coiled middle section) leading to the male pin at each end. The male pins make up the remaining 3" (1-1/2" long each). The cord is advertised as being capable of stretching to 12 ft. when fully extended.
