Does anyone here use the CL mode on their t2se or t2se/dst

I too am trying to tame the thing.very frustrating. nver seems to lock on to a vdi bounces all the time i have stopped usin it for a while. the last time i used it the sens had to be turned down to 50 to control it

is the cl mode the cache mode? if it is I would think that the vdi could bounce around since it is designed to find larger targets it could pick up more than one smaller target. I never use anything but 1, 3, and boost so I don't know from experience, just guessing

I use to T2 SE but never use the CL mode In iron infested area I have been using the 2c mode .much quieter and still gets the goodies. But in the main I use the boost mode..

"Cache mode" on most F75 and T2 versions is very similar to "Slow mode" on the F70. The response is slow, with improved sensitivity to large deep targets. However this means that the signals from shallow targets will smear, with a cost in both sensitivity and in ability to discriminate and ID targets. Shallow targets will do better in cache/slow mode if you slow down to a crawl, but the default and boost modes work better for the shallower stuff. And, if you really do want best response on deep stuff, all metals mode goes deeper than disc mode. For finding the deep stuff, an alternative to Cache/Slow mode is to search in Boost mode all metals, then switch to disc when you suspect you're fighting trash. ........Another way to deal with shallower stuff is to search in Cache/Slow mode with the searchcoil lofted several inches above the ground. This will result in a big cut in response to shallow trash, but perhaps more importantly it will achieve a large reduction in ground mineral interference (since ground itself is the shallowest target) and in mineralized ground will usually enable deeper detection than if you were scrubbing the surface in a misguided attempt to "get as close as possible to the deep targets".

SUMMARIZING: Cache/Slow mode is basically for locating large deep stuff in areas where there's not so much trash as to defeat the enterprise.

With all of the Ground cancelling/balance features that you see on MDs these days, it is easy to forget about the ground being the shallowest target. Great explanation there Dave J. , thank you!

Hi, Very interesting reading this subject, I have had the t2 se for a few years now infact i have two of them as love every thing about them. The cl mode i must admit i have only used a few times but was difficult to tame, but the bp mode i use a lot when only stubble is available and still pull good keepers from 4 to 5 inches deep skimming over the top of the horible stuff. Reading this topic about the cl mode is giving me another option as i think there could be more coins on a spot that produced 6 really nice clean hammererd coins,so clean in fact that i believe recently disturbed ,i have tried allsorts to pinpoint more but i will be giving the cl mode a bash you never know.
