Does anyone make.....

Years ago I was had a coil for my DFX called a hotfoot. The same company made a bigfoot coil. I really liked this coil design. Does anyone make a coil comparable to these for the Explorer?

I sent an email to Jimmy Sierra last fall, since he is the one who makes the BigFoot and HotFoot coils for the White's machines. I asked him about a BigFoot for the Explorer. He sent me back a very nice email indicating that he has a very satisfying business relationship with White's -- he's the West Coast distributor for White's. He would never make an after market coil for any detector other that White's. He indicated that Ken White would be pretty upset if he did make such a coil. I guess I would feel the same way if I were in Jimmy's position, and I don't blame Ken for wanting to protect his "territory". Ken White does make a very fine machine. I've had a couple of them and have been very happy with them.

I love my XLT/BigFoot combination especially for hunting in parks and playgrounds. It doesn't go very deep; maybe a couple or 3 inches, but it sure covers a lot of real estate in a given period of time. (Jimmy indicated that there might be a problem with the XLT.)

However, that having been said, it would be nice to be able to put a BigFoot type coil on the Explorer. Perhaps someone other third party manufacturer will come up with a BigFoot or HotFoot type of coil for the Explorer.

I'm not about to give up either the XLTBigFoot combination or the Explorer. They both have a definite place in my arsenal.
