Hello All! Somewhere on this forum I found where it talk about a previous hunt that was in Louisville Ky. I'm curious if the hunt was either in Shawnee or Chickisaw Park. Louisville is my hometown and am very familiar with most of the parks system here. Both Shawnee and Chickisaw was under water during the flood of 1937. The city later redesigned the greatlawn in Shawnee with the riverside bern and contoured the lawn for drainage.Any help appreciated! Thanks, Eddie B:poke:

Hi Eddie, What do you know about "Oxmoor" plantation the BULLITT home in Louisville. The Bullitts are my relatives and I know there is quite a bit of history there. The old woman that lives there now, will be giving the property to the Filson Historical Society when she dies. I was thinking of takeing a trip out there.

Hello John, The Oxmoor land is one of the only farms still in existence and still putting out a crop in the heart of the metro. The property is behind the Oxmoor Mall on Shelbyville Rd just of of I 264 and I 64. This property is prime time property that all the wolves have been tracking for many years. I believe their was a newspaper article on the property being purchased and sub-dividing and building those multi- hundred thousand dollar castles. I'm sending you a link of the aerial property of Jefferson Co. Go to the aerial photography link,( it will not load with most firewall on). If you need anymore information let me know.Genealogy is a passion of mine and I enjoy helping those that I can. Also, I've just recently became a detector junky and started with the SE. I've been struggling with the SE most of the time, always thinking there is something wrong with it and not me. But our LORD sent me a Explorer teacher,(Ron S.) and he it getting me on track. And not to mention all you guys on this forum that is always willing to share and help us newbies. I thank you for all of us!! Thanks!!:clapping::crylol:

I am also into genealogy. My G-Grandfather was Harry Wiessinger of the Weissinger Tobacco Company in Louisville. Louisville Central Park was the Weissinger property at one time. From what I understand the Filsons Historical Society are going to get Oxmoor. I would like to get out there before they do, and hunt that property. I can't even imagine the stuff still in that ground there.
