Does this mean the AT Max will replace the AT Gold as well?

Meaning is there any feature on the AT Gold other than 18khz
that differs from the AT MAX?
 
There is quite a difference in the operating frequencies of these two machines , and for gold the higher is better. Plus if the ATG price is between the ATP and ATM , then gold prospectors will continue to buy it because they don't necessarily need anything else. Its anybodys guess , but Garrett might just keep it in their lineup as their dedicated gold machine.
