Does your F70 dislike wet grass?

Mine sure does get jumpy !!!!! Maybe most MD's are that way. When I used my F2, it was always in sand or dry grass. Maybe it would have been chirpy too.
 
there may be a small crack somewhere in the coil and moisture is getting in??.. Also and just curious how old is the detector.. Is it one of the early runs produced?? I had one of the very early produced units and the coil itself was defective.. Fisher replaced it and it ran as slick as g*&se poop!!

I think there is a very good chance it is exactly what Mark ( ohio ) says. The only time wet grass made a detector of mine noisy I sent it in for a checkup it was replaced do to moisture getting inside the coil. HH jim tn
