Done a little relic digging to get used the the Quattro

Found some "hot rocks", and a bunch of trash, no coin but I still don't have my setting quite right yet but getting there.

Hello Bobbie,
It doen't matter if it's junk or whatever. The fact is your getting out there giving it a go! I just got back from two days at the beach, found a heap of pulltabs, caps, and about 10 sinkers! But no coins or jewlery. Enjoyed myself just the same, till it decided to thunder and rain on me. I was soaked!
Regards, Angela

Our beaches where I live are basically non-productive in the summer since they are family oriented, I find mostly coin, pull tabs and an assortment of junk. They will not start to produce until we get some bad winter storms and jeweley will be thrown up on the beach. So until then I am digging in our farm fields for old coins.

Hi Bobbie,
Thankyou for your post. Unfortunately, I live about 2 hours away from the nearest beach, and the weather differs slightly down there to where I am, in the goldfield mountains. If it's pouring rain at the beach, you can be almost certain that it's sunny here. So it's a bit hard to gauge when to go down to the water "after a storm"! I do know though, that in Summer, that's the time to hit the beaches in Australia, for you get swimmers losing their jewelry, in the water and in the sand when they "shake" their towels off. About 4 months ago, I went to the beach for the first time with the Quattro, and in 10 minutes picked up a diamond ring, a plain gold band and a gents silver ring. I've since sold the jewelry which helped me to recoup some of the money I spent on the detector! Also alot of the beaches here are situated in a bay, so they would be to some degree protected from a good storm, I suppose.
But living on the goldfields provides me with ample opportunity to detect.
Cheers, Angela
