Don't ya love this time of year when the farmers ..........

set up their stands at the farmers markets, I do and visit often, just got back, those blueberry's would have cost me $10 at the store, I got them for $2.50

I sliced and packed two of those Mellon's for easy eating on a hot Alabama afternoon at the Lumber Mill, yummy!

The only thing I got in the picture from the store are the plums, I just love those big west coast red plums when you can catch them at the right time and I did because I eat one in the store

on my way home from work. don't know why I never did before. They are open year around. Stand is in front next to their 100 year old farm house and field in the back. Sounds real rural doesn't it? Nope, right in the middle of the city and they are the last farm around. Got out and what did I see? Three old hippies selling their fresh strawberries, beans and what ever else was ripe. They looked my age (real old) guess there are still a few holdouts that drifted down from Haight-Ashbury in N CA.

I made my choices and found out I was $2 short on cash. They said don't worry next time you are around just drop it in the can on the counter. You don't see that anymore. (and yes I did pay later)
