Double screen on Explorer SE?

I was hunting today and I switched detecting modes really quick and the screen became disjointed like what you see below and stuff that was above or below numbers became skewered too. I then shut it off and turned it back on and it was normal after that. It didn't happen afterwards either. Is this the defect I have seen mentioned on the older Explorer models? This is also the first and only time it has happened to me.

That is a problem particular to the SE. A lot of people have had that type of problem with the SE's since they came out. I thought that Minelab had solved the problem and all the current models no longer suffered that affliction. A friend of mine went through 3 SE's before he got a good one that didn't do that! Is yours new or have you had it awhile? I have never had that problem on my Explorer XS or Explorer II.

I had it for almost a couple years now. I have the Explorer SE II model so I figured this should not be happening.

Do you have an inline sunray probe? i have had this once since putting mine on, i made the error of switching to probe in pinpoint mode and apart from screaming at me the split screen appeared too, i haven't done it again and also haven't had the split screan again since, maybe just a coinsidence.
To get rid of it i switched off and on again, all sorted

I was not using a probe but the automax probe which is of course stand alone. I switched it off and then put it back without it ever happening again. Like I said I switched the detecting modes really quick. I think that is what did it? I usually do not switch it that fast as a rule. I am still covered with warranty but I hate to send it in because I know it won't be 2-3 months before I get it back. I wouldn't gripe about it but if I had a GT or something I wouldn't care.

Why do you think it will be 2 or 3 months to get it back?----On rare occasion, I have had to send a detector in to Minelab & it didn't take ANYWHERE near that length of time to get it back.--Call them up on there toll free # and ask what their current turn around time is on detector repair.--------Del

Because that is what everyone who has sent their ML MD for repairs has said on here recently for turn around times. I seen this problem posted from a few different people. Believe me, it's bad.

On the other side of the coin in being fair to ML. There MD usually hold up pretty well so when you send it in for a repair more than likely you have had for at least several years if not more.
