Hi Blowfly,
Sorry for seeing your post late
I see my old friend Mick had already helped you out.( Gday Mick Happy 2013 mate , say Hi to Narromine for me will ya

)
When I hunt for modern I disc out the very high and and very low and leave an open screen in between - but it really depends upon what u feel like digging for
You did not mention which 15"you got...LF, MF, HF , not that it it should matter too much
The main thing is to have a stable machine, Noise Cancel first and set it up so as its humming along nicely just under the falseing side of Sensitivity
I use Tracking On as it compensates for ground differences and re GB's the XTerra as I move around
One thing I have found sometimes when putting a new coil on my detectors is to give the new coil some time on the detector to get used to each other.
Coilteks coils are on the "hot"side (which is a good thing IMHO) and my old Xt70 initially liked some time to get to know the new coil, especially with the LF
If your problem is lack of separation and that is one that I have never had with a WOT .
Being a DD it should separate fairly well...I would test swing over 2 or 3 coins close together on the ground surface and see what occurs.
It should separate each coin when the coins are about 1 to 2 inches apart - depending upon how far away the coil is from the object
If your problem is that it is giving lots of signals close together that simply means there are lots of targets down there and you need to decide which ones to pinpoint and dig for...perhaps even think about using a smaller coil for this particular spot
Walking onto the coil ?? dang !! have you tried putting your shoes on backwards ? that should fix it

or maybe stretch your arms a bit ...sorry

I adjust the shaft so the WOT is right away from my feet and put in my little counterweight under my elbow for better detector balance (see previous post re this)
I am just on 6 foot and I guess I use my shoulder more than my arms when swinging big coils and keep my arm fairly straight, rotating the shoulder .
Best of luck
