DRagged my old rickity body out for an hour or so this evening and scrounged up this dibby dab in a local football field.

Pretty good for an hour or so.I just love finding Quarters.Nice job Uncle Willy

Good for you Uncle Willy! The main thing is you were able to get out! I am happy for you. I did want to ask you something, I run my sens at 6 - 6.5 all the time. What do you, or should I, run my sens at with the 9 X 12 search coil?:garrett:

WTG Uncle Willy not bad for an hour worth of "work". Thanks for posting pic.:clapping:

Nice job Uncle willy, don't you just love those nice bell tones from those quarters.I was out myself yesterday, trying to locate some good spots in the forest preserves near me. Had to be back home at a certain time, and was trying to get every last minute in when I started thinking man it would be nice if my 2500 had a clock display on the screen. Maybe cause i did'nt have a watch on and had to keep digging in my pocket for my phone. I don't know , just a thought.

I run mine at 6 or 6.5 all the time on the big Garretts and 4-5 on the 250 unless I'm in a big area with little trash or mineralization and even then I don't crank it up that much. You have to watch the sensitivity on the big coil as it just sees too much all at once and takes in too many targets. Since the coil is bigger and gets another 2-3 inches in depth one doesn't have to worry about loss of depth running low sensitivity. A lot of guys use the 9x12 exclusively because of the added depth and that it performs just like the stock coil. Course in playgrounds and such the smaller coils work better and if you drop your sensitivity way down you can get right up next to the metal and get those coins others miss and you'd be surprised how many coins are laying right up next to the metal.

Glad you could get out U Willy.
I went out last week to some hills in our residential area
where people go to snow board. Picked up about $1.40 in change. Nothing else though. Would have
thought some jewlery etc might have slipped off.
