Dual Field or PI Pro?

Bling

New member
anyone owned both and see any diff in performance? im thinking about buying one or the other.

I have owned both and find the Dual Field superior. It is more stable and definately goes deeper. The only fault with the dual is it's floating coil. The PI Pro with the pulse diver coil is alot less bouyant

I too have owned both and agree with Pistolpete. The DF is a combination of the Surfmaster PI Plus and the PI Pro which makes it more versitile. You also have the advantage of the Dual Field Coil which is like having two coils in one. It covers a lot of turf but has great sensitivity to small gold and pinpointing is easy. The coil does float a little. However, you have to ask yourself how much you're gonna be wading. I get in the water only a handfull of times during the summer due to wave action so 99% of the time I'm in the wet sand. The coil is not a problem for me. Get the Dual Field and you can't go wrong.

n/t

I have both, plus a Surf PI which sounds off like the old bfo and is easy to hear underwater with a hood on. The Dual goes deeper than
the Pro. I never thought I would find a machine that would. I had to use it a few times, but now I am cleaning up an old beach with it AND
it is FRESH WATER. Was out this morning, got one wheat, a 59 nickel, a 49 Rosie and a nice 14k band. All very deep in the sand. Since
I dive or snorkel, the floating coil is not an issue. Good luck.
