Dug an old one today.

Got out this morning for a couple hours. This 1787 Connecticut copper was the only thing I dug other than shotguns shells and modern bullets. Not in bad shape for one of our "NY coppers". Luckily it wasn't in a fertilized field so it still has some decent detail. Second one I've found but nearly 15 years have passed since I dug the first one.

I only have two and both are in rather bad shape, they used lousy copper to begin with and then to be in the acidic soil is the kiss of death. My son has a few of them in great shape.....

Nice find! I found a 1786 that isn't in as good of shape as your coin is.
