The girls all went to a baby shower after church so I went and got permission to hunt an old farm house. Did pretty good.

10 wheats, and an 1890 Indian Head.

I got two crotal bells. I have about 3 doz in my collection. The one on the left with the gold color is a new kind to my collection. Both still have their iron ball inside and sound great! Also got the old pocket watch back with some fancy writting on it.

Doo-dads include two lead doggies, some player piano reeds, a dog tag, and a leaf pendant.

Close up of the 1938 dog tag, and the victorian leaf pendant. I plan to return. Got to be some silver, and more indians there.

Awesome Mike! Those are some really cool oldies and you just gotta love digging wheaties and Indian Heads! Congrats!:clapping:

Old homesteads are great. Maybe string out all your crotal bells to a cord so they jingle outside when the wind blows :) Steve in so az

neat stuff!!

Golly ... that's a lot more than I dug this morning. A neighbor and I went to one of our local elementary schools this morning, for an hour or so and about all I found was 12 dimes, 2 nickles, 1 quarter, 4 copper pennies, and a large hunk of melted copper solder. Still ... all in all it wasn't a bad morning's hunt but not as good as yours. Congratulations, Mike!

I grew up on a farm near Crowswell MI. My great grandfather built the house in 1852. The ONLY thing that I have ever found on that 160 acre piece is a sleigh bell. I also have a picture of my Great Grandfather on a sleigh full of them. I would love to think this bell came off his sleigh BUT, we never know. Somebody visiting could have lost it.

When I was a kid at family reunions, There was a pile of sawdust they hid coins in in the apple orchard. LOL, I haven't dug ONE coin there!!! I think the adults made sure we didn't leave one!!!

THANK you for bringing back the memories Mike.

Hope you like the forum. Those oldies are out there waiting for you.
God bless.

Mike
