Dug up a red clay pot of some sort.

Was buried in the river sand bars next to a piece of metal about 4 inches deep. That exact area was a 1700's trading post so I thought just maybe it could be old. Took it to the museum located there and the curator said a lot of Indian (from India) figurines, scarves, and religious things are found there by the river and in the woods. He thinks they hold some kind of ceremonies by the river. That explains why I was eye-balling a lot of Indian figurines and Indian cloth pieces there last year. The pot was packed with mud and has a few barnacles attached to it, no cracks or chips. Cleaned it out in the river. An unusual find but seems to be modern. Today, also found a ladies older compact case, a nickel and a penny. Last summer I found a few King George pennies and an 1820 U.S dime just a little upstream, could be more still there, you never know. Jabbo

Really cool find. Amazing that it was in one piece.
