Purchased a SEF 12x15 coil for my e-trac about a moth ago really love it ,found a 1782 one real a few weeks back in a area i have pounded with my pro coil and today i found a nice 1838 half dime about 8 or 9 " this setup -etrac +12x15 sef loves silver, really hits hard but you do have to swing it slow,it is a bit heavy, but for a larger coil it does separate very well don't get me wrong i like the stock 11"pro coil and use it in the woods all the time,i also have a 6x8 sef coil that also works great in iron infested areas ,but it does lose some dept HH, TONY C
I took it to a park I hunted hard with the Pro coil. With the Pro coil I found 11 Wheat cents, a 1916 Buffalo nickel and a 1900 Indian Head penny.
Just to show a park is never hunted out, I even went back again with the Pro coil and still found even more Wheat cents and a 1904 Indian Head penny. The Pro coil actually found the deepest coin, a 1916d Wheaty at 9 inches. The deepest coin I found with the 15x12 coil was a 1969 Memorial cent at 8 inches. I still don't know for sure why the big 15x12 coil found so much more. I think maybe the butterfly design may have something to do with it. Maybe the design made it hit targets the round double-d Pro coil didn't. The larger field of detection could have something to do with it. Maybe I just missed all those coins. Who knows? What I can say is that the 15x12 s.e.f. butterfly coil is an excellent partner to the Pro coil.
No buyer's remorse here.
