E Trac and Salt

mrix

New member
Hi all, I am very interested in the E Trac mainly because it explaines that it is very good for saltwater area`s. Is this true is it really good for saltwater / beach mud etc ? Also I have been out of metal detecting for a few years and a couple of years back most detectors wouldnt touch salty mud at all, are they much better now ?
Cheers

all the Minelab multi freq machines do great in salt water mud/sand from the sovereign, the explorer, up to and including the Etrac I am sure..
In my opinion if your going to get one for just that, then your better off going with a sovereign or Excalibur.. cheaper and you can bag the sovereign to keep to from falling into the water, and the Excalibur is water proof and can be dunked.. if you plan on land hunting as well and want a better ID, then the explorers or even etrac I guess.. I havent had the etrac on the salt water beach, but its enough like an explorer to think it shouldn't do any worse if not better as far as salt performance anyway

Yes I am planning on any venue really but I have a couple of promising saltwater venues also that I have always wanted to try.
many thanks for the advice

I currently live on the Island of Ohau and wondering if the E-trac would do well here on the beaches. We don't have much wet sand since we only have somewere of a 2' tide change of the max. We only have about 20' feet of wet sand at any one time. I am currently using my ExCail (blue head phones) for beach and water.

Wonder if there would be much difference in Find's?
