E Trac and SEF coils

I am thinking of adding a coil to my arsenal. Does anyone have experience with the new SEF coils? How do the 15 x 12 and the 12 x 10 SEF coils work with the E Trac? How is the target ID at depth? What kind of depth can you get with these larger coils on coin size targets?

I have the 12X15 depth is better than any coil I have used. Target ID can be off a little mostly on the ferrous side but that happens with the stock coil as well.
I use mine alot to relic hunt and love it.

Hello,
Originally a couple months back.I purchased the 15" X 18" S.E.F..............I used it(testing Only)for about 20 minutes, and found it to be far too heavy for me.I liked the separation, and I am sure it could find some DEEP quarters and halves, but ,the weight was an issue with me,and I didn't want to have to have a Bungee hanging from my shoulder so....
...............I called and talked to a nice gentleman from Kelly Co.He said send it back for an exchange OR a full refund..Cool....So I decided to kick the weight down a couple notches and go with the 10" X 12" S.E.F............................
..........................................................I made that decision for 2 reasons.....#..(1) the 10 x 12 SEF is an actual 12" long vs the 10 1/2" Pro coil = 1 1/2" more coverage per sweep....I figured they probably got about the same depth.....and the weight was not that much more.....so why not give it a shot..................................................................................................................................
.....................................................................................................Reason # (2)...For the difference in price of the 15 x 18....vs the 10 x 12 ....I still had enough money left for an extra lower shaft...EVEN SWAP.....................I had struggled with the Idea of getting the 12x15 SEF......but ........I was worried about -- IT -- being TOO HEAVY....................................................................
...............................................................................What do I think of the 10 x 12 sef ?.................well I have hunted about 60 hours with it.......switched back to the Pro for about 2 hours,,,,,,,,,,,decided I liked hunting with the 10 X 12 SEF BETTER....................................................................................................................................................................................
...................................................................................................
Results with the SEF ?...........well I found 3 silvers this year with the Pro coil this year........................and 31 with the 10 x 12.........................................................
.............................................................I found 11 silvers last Saturday with the SEF.................................there is a post I made Last Saturday titled something like................................
...........................................................................................................................11 silvers, My Best Day Ever....................
Would I have found 11 with the Pro coil.?.............Maybe..........My buddy found 13 in one hunt last year with his Pro Coil.................
...................................................but I believe he had a LONG hunting day...........I hunted 9 am- 3;30 (rain)...........and got an extra 1 1/2" for every sweep.................

I have the 12x10, it is my preferred coil over the pro (personal preference, for those who prefer the pro more power to ya!). Depth is outstanding as you would expect and I've found the ID to be very good.
