E-trac Probe/pinpointer question ?

wjpjr

New member
I have been doing research for buying a pinpointer this evening. .
It seems the best bang for your buck is the sun ray X1. At least that's what I'm assuming.
Seems you have to send your upper shaft in or pay extra for another shaft ?
Is this the best way to go ? Anybody have a better set up ?
Anybody have the X1 and like something better ??
Thanks in advance !
Bill

I have a X-1 and I love it. Bought it from Sgt. Riker's in Ashland Va, came with the shaft. In my opinion its the way to go.

If you can't dig, I'd send in your upper shaft. If you we're like me I was able to detect and had just really started on the E-Trac, so I purchased the upper shaft with probe mounted. I personally think this is absolutely the best set up. I do own a Garrett PP'er and like it. Both do good at pinpointing at depth...and that's what counts. Pistol probe or the Vibra Probe would've probably been my third choice.

Got my X1 used, already mounted on a shaft... now I have a spare shaft too... never used any other pinpointer so I can't comment there. I am open minded but as long as the X1 works, I'm sticking with it. One handy tool IMO. I think it should come w/the Etrac as standard LOL

I like the x1 it helps on the recovery time if my x1 dose breakdown I will have to buy a different kind till fixed but the x1 is my choice

with X-1 you will lose some depth, very little but loose. on X-1 not right cable from control panel to switch--to thin, because no much place in shaft to use thicker.good luck Stasys.

i have x-1 and garrett and sometimes i use the x-1 to locate and when i am not finding i pull out garrett and it never fails. If you are goint to use i i would say garrett.Thats my opinion charlie

I do not have the x-1 but do have the Garrett and it works great. I also have the detector pro pistol probe and I can't use it with the E-Trac, it drives the E-Trac nuts.
