E-Trac sniffs out another silver

So I'm driving by my brothers house and notice half his lawn has been scraped away as part of a driveway project he is doing. Since his place was built in the late 40's I ask if he has detected the area where the grass was removed. He said he hasn't but he had detected the lawn in the past without much success. I ask if he'd mind if I give it a try and he says "go for it", so out comes the E-Trac. Five minutes in I find a grungy looking clad quarter on the surface. Continuing on, I'm mostly just getting rusty roofing nail hits. I decide to check out a 2' square piece of sod that was still in place near the door. I was getting signals of 5 or 6 nails in this small chunk of sod but intermixed I'm hearing the nice "quarter" sound of multi-tone conductive and seeing the occasional 12-46 on the screen. I carefully pinpoint and pull a 3" plug and out pops a 1953-S Quarter. We were both surprised to say the least. The rest of the area just produced more nails and staples. Not bad though for a small yard that had been previously hunted.

Thanks for looking. Good luck on your next hunt!
